About the area
Gewan is the newest of the reclaimed islands, joined to The Pearl by a short causeway and built at a fraction of its density. The plan is mostly villas, townhouses and a handful of low-rise apartment buildings around a crystal lagoon and a members' beach club. Freehold, and priced at the top of the market.
Gewan Island covers about 400,000 square metres beside The Pearl and shares its developer, United Development Company. A 250-metre bridge carries the only road on, and the plan is deliberately low-density: villas, townhouses and a small number of low-rise apartment buildings around a crystal lagoon.
What's here
Crystal Lagoon
The island's centrepiece, ringed by the villas.
Gewan Beach Club
Members' beach and pool club.
The Pearl
Joined by bridge, with all its retail a few minutes away.
Getting around
One bridge from The Pearl carries all traffic on and off the island.
Legtaifiya metro station is the nearest, via The Pearl causeway.
The property market
Freehold, low-density and priced at the top of the Qatari market. Stock is limited to what the developer has released, so availability moves in steps rather than continuously.
